MyClearCost provides general educational calculators and articles about personal finance in the United States. Nothing on this website is financial, investment, tax, insurance, or legal advice. Nothing is an offer to lend, a commitment to any interest rate, or a substitute for a licensed professional.
Use of the site does not create an attorney-client, fiduciary, tax-preparer, or lender relationship. You are responsible for decisions you make after looking at an estimate.
Estimates are not quotes
Mortgage insurance, property tax, homeowners insurance, HOA dues, auto sales tax, title fees, and 401(k) match rules vary by lender, county, insurer, employer plan, and year. Statewide averages are starting points only. A Loan Estimate, Closing Disclosure, dealer buyer’s order, or payroll stub controls if they disagree with the screen.
Paycheck tool
Paycheck estimates use 2026 federal brackets and standard deductions, plus a simplified state income-tax rate you can override. They omit credits, local taxes, extra withholding, and a full Form W-4. Compare any result with your actual stub before you budget or accept a job offer.
Markets and debt
Retirement and FIRE projections assume constant returns. Real markets are volatile. Past index returns do not predict your result. Credit card and debt-payoff math assumes a fixed APR and payment; issuers can change rates, minimums, and fees. The 4% withdrawal shortcut is a planning assumption, not a guarantee that a portfolio will last.
Accuracy
We try to keep formulas correct and to document them on the how we calculate page. Tax law, SSA wage bases, and state rates change. If you find an error, contact us with the inputs you used.
Talk to a licensed professional and read your actual loan estimate, closing disclosure, pay stub, or card agreement before you decide.
